Ribes, Sunflower, Gynerium argenteum (pampas grass)

A fun note for this arrangement: The white panicle of the gynerium in the back is sprayed with hair spray before put into the vase because its particles tend to fly around which we don't want.

Hosta Trials

We are very lucky in our Ikebana group to have Robert who brings us a wide variety of hosta leaves from his garden every year. These wonderful leaves are so sculptural, it is a joy to use them even alone without flowers. Below you can see my various trials in a glass container.

It is always a delight to work with horsetails. I love to play with the horsetail geometry as you can see in these two different versions of the same arrangement. For this second version at home, I have used my stoneware container which I made in Michelle's studio recently.

I loved this week's challenge of using see through multiple glass containers. Water is always being considered as an important element of Ikebana arrangements but in this particular case of glass vases, water is the shin.

Sogetsu Variation 2: Slanting Style Nageire

Kocaman kollarını herkesi saracak gibi açmış bu düzenlemeyi yaparken çok keyif aldım. Nageire çalışmak kolay olmuyor. Yüksek vazolarda, dalları istenen açıda yerleştirip sabitlemek için, dışarıdan görünmeyen ek yardımcı dallar kullanılıyor. Özellikle temel stilleri çalışırken çok özen gerekiyor.   

Aynı çiceklerle serbest tarzda evde yaptığım yeniden düzenlemeyi daha çok seviyorum ama ne yalan söylemeli. 

Evde kendi el emeğim, bu koyu kahve renkli, yaprak formlu vazoyu kullandım. Bu vazoyu sadece ikebanayı düşleyerek 2014 yılı başında Michelle'in atölyesinde yapmıştım. Farklı açılardan bakıldığında yarattığı etkiyi seviyorum. 












   

Yüzen Çiçekler

Sogetsu Okulu Variation No:7 Floating Style (7. Çeşitleme, Yüzen Tarz) 

Bu usülde yapılan düzenlemelerde su yüzeyi shin kabul edilir ve gösterilmesi esastır. Dal ve çiçekler az sayıda, esirgenerek, suyu ön plana çıkaracak şekilde kullanılır.

Yandaki resimde gördüğünüz aranjmanda, bu esasa uygun olarak üç sığ plastik kabı üst üste koyarak geniş bir su yüzeyi oluşturduk. Bunlar arasında geçişi ve bağlantıyı sağlayan yeşil dalların iç içe geçirilerek kullanımına dikkat edin. Ayçiçekleri ise görkemli güzellikleri ve renkleriyle düzenlemeyi bütünlediler ve zengin ama yalın renk kullanımını vurguladılar.



Yandaki fotoğrafta aynı materyalin farklı kullanımını görüyorsunuz. Seramikler benden. Bu seferkiler Beatrice'in atölyesinde, çömlekçi tekerinde çalışmayı öğrenirken yaptığım kaplar.
Soldaki yüksek vazonun, Beatrice'in önerisiyle yaptığım, üstü delikli bir kapağı var. Kenzan kullanmadan dalları dik tutmak için hoş bir yöntem oldu.
